Jean Paul Gaultier: Spring Spring 2006 RTW www.style.com/fashionshows/complete/S2006RTW-JPGAULTI?page=3First off I wanted to design something for a woman who wasnt the typical model size As for the design In the beginning of spring the earth is still brown and flowers are growing out and starting to cover the land. That is what I wanted to show in my design Alexander: I like that used a woman that isn't the typical model size, my issue is that if you went this route you should have created something that really flattered her and it doesn't do it. I have to say though it does create a very nice shape on her but her boobs look like they are about to burst out. Okay moving past that I like the connection you made I like that you gave a description because without it maybe the earth part would come off a bit fall and I liked that you said it was the dirt that the flowers were going out of gave it more of a spring feel. Although I'm not loving this design, it's a pretty nice design, something a bit different and works for the challenge. Betsey: She is quite curvy for a model isn't she? And she looks short! Anyway, right away I saw and thought Spring when I saw this outfit. The flower embellishments gave it all away John. I wish I could find some small little faults with this, lest people think I just prefer you over others but once again you have impressed me. Chris: For some reason, I just literally burst out laughing as soon as I saw this design. My first problem with this design is the flowers at the strap...I think it looks pretty tacky. And my second problem is, it looks like a wedding dress at the bottom and I just don't feel that the bottom really fits in with the rest of the dress. It does look very...Spring, though. Elle: I can appreciate you designing for "plus sized" people, but it needs to flatter them to look good. This unfortunately does not flatter a larger woman. Her thighs look HUGE. And that sucks because I love the silouhette of this design. I love the curve hugging form and then the mermaid flared bottom. But with the floral going down the front like that, it puts too much emphasize on the gigantic thighs of the woman wearing it. She's barely busty? Like I said, the dress on a whole is fantastic, but the flowers being centered just draw too much attention to the huge thunder thighs wearing the dress.

Christian Lacroix: Alexander: When I saw this, I just thought hooker right off the bat. The tube-top that is very skimpy and showing off her breasts like that, the leather jacket, overall it looks cheap and like something I could see on a hooker. Yeah you are the only person to make shorts, I kind of see where you were going with summer in this design but then you have a jacket which I don't get in summer. I mean if the jacket covered only the shoulders it would have been better but since it's about elbow length that girl is gonna sweat like crazy in summer. I'm sorry I am just not feeling this design...... Betsey: I have to agree with Alex here. Sorry but it does look very cheap and not well thought out. You could have gone in many directions with summer but why this one? That hat! That hat!!!! I just don't understand any of the concept except it looks like something you would wear in the summer but to be honest, nobody should dress like this in the summer, winter, or spring. Unless, of course, like Alex said... you are selling to the professional street ladies. Chris: This design looks like something someone would submit for Project Porn Star. I do like the jacket, but I also agree that this design doesn't really fit in very well with any season. Elle: Oh please, hookers dress better than this. I don't see cheap, i see mess. Nothing goes together, nothing looks good together, the hat is ugly and thrown in with the rest of the mess, I'm not liking this at all. I'm not sure where the others got hooker or porn star from though, I guarantee NONE of the Girls Next Door would wear this mess.

Christian Dior: Alexander: This coat works nicely for winter, I have to say it's a bit safe but at least it's not a disaster. I would have liked maybe a bit more fur around the bottom of the sleeves or created the ones already there more volumized to create a bit more drama in it or something more interesting but it works nicely. I love fur and I like that you used it. I have to say it's a nice design but very safe. Betsey: I love this coat for winter. Part of me wishes it were open and we could see more to the outfit then just a coat. Can you not design more then that in a 48 hour time frame? It's a beautiful coat, so don't misunderstand me but I would have loved to see what one would wear under it as well. Chris: Well, I can see why this is Winter, but I'm just not feeling the design. Whatever those little white things in the center of the jacket are, they are very ugly. Elle: I guess if you were going to go with the safe route this would be the challenge to do so since everyone so far blows. It's a very nice coat, I like it alot. Very flattering, and nicely made. But I'm bored *yawn*

Oscar de la Renta: Alexander: I have to say that spring is easy especially because of just using florals. Of course that isn't your fault that you used it to create your connection to the season. I like the dress though and it's a very nice one, I believe if you added a slit it would have made it a bit more spring and I like the detailing on the bust, I like this dress overall. Betsey: I could see this working more for summer then for spring. For me spring is about flowers but summer is as well. The colors outside of the pink could work for fall as well but what I'm thinking is that since you left it strapless and without a jacket of any sort, I would have though more summer. Now how is that different from Jean Paul? Well he does have a tad bit more covered up then this dress does. It's just alright for me. Chris: When I first saw this, I thought that your theme was Summer. I can see Spring, just Summer more. I do think that it's a beautiful dress, though. Elle: Was this round really that hard? We've had either hot messes or boring/safe. The dress is nice, and I totally see spring as a matter of fact that was my first guess. It's no different then the other spring design with flowers. And the soft coloring of the dress fabric screams spring. I dont' like the colors of the flowers though, they're gawdy looking. But overall, not a bad job.

Valentino: Alexander: I like that you created a holiday feel to it to match your season. I get what you were going for and I like the pleating details you have. Although that's all I have to say I like, I don't like that it's not longer because for winter you need something to keep your legs warm in a cold winter and the shape is a bit boxy and she seems like a big red rectangle with sleeves. I think it works for the challenge, I am just not liking this design that much. Betsey: What? Not liking this design? Why ever not? I think this outfit looks like a Christmas Present which works for the winter theme. I for sure wouldn't design this for the fall or spring, not even summer! But I will give Alex some credit, the outfit isn't very flattering to a woman's figure and it does look a little maternal. MATERNAL!?! Gasp! Chris: I do like this design. My only real criticism with it is the length. You should have added some stockings to the design. Elle: *scratches head* Is there more reason why you felt this was good for winter other than a holiday party? I would've guessed Autumn before winter based on the light looking material, the bare legs and the bright coloring of the "jacket/coat". The jacket itself does look like the design was made to look like those huge giant fanlike bows that sometimes go on presents, maybe if you had of said that, but other than that, I'm not feeling it.

John Galliano: Alexander: I like the brown colors for autumn and the ideas of leaves dying, I also think of when I see this design of flowers wilting and I like that you created an amazing layered/tiered design. I really like it and I think it's so far one of my favorite designs for this challenge. Betsey: I too like the dress, it's cute and fashionable. The colors do work and I can see where you got the idea of the leaves dying. I think the model could have posed somewhat better to really show off the garment but that isn't your fault as a designer so much. Chris: I love this design! It fits in very well with Fall, the color is beautiful, the ruffles are beautiful. It's just a very beautiful design, overall. Elle: Autumn colors!!!! YAY. The thing around your head also reminds me of bird feathers which make me think turkey which make me think Autumn as well. I love the colors you chose to work with. I also like the layering of the dress. The dress kind of reminds me of leaves. I agree with Betsey about the pose, I thought the same thing myself.

Versace: Alexander: I see this design and think cocktail waitress. I don't get what you were going for, I kind of get that you wanted them to look like petals...I'm assuming but bring black causes them to look dead which is more of an autumn/winter thing and not associated with spring. I'm just not feeling this design for spring but I like the bust part and it works if you were a waitress... Betsey: I'll have a scotch please! Straight up! Oh this isn't a waitress outfit? Well Alex suggested it and I can see it as well... Black for spring? BLACK? Really? How morbid. Spring signifies the rebirth of life after winter, the dark depressing season of winter when everything is dead and bleak. This is a cute little dress but I don't know if it would even work for winter with it being so revealing. I think you missed the mark here darling. Spring! How easy is spring? Chris: This is definitely a beautiful dress, but I don't really feel that it fits in very well with Spring. And it really does kind of look like something a cocktail waitress would wear. Elle: meh, too safe. I dont' think cocktail waitress matters because I'm sure they go out in the spring time as well, and from the example of a swimsuit, a nice spring dress is just as fitting for your season, but it's booooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrring.

Please know that do not delete or modify posts in your Final Submission board. I have now disabled the delete and modify function in those boards so whatever you put in there will now stay in there. I have security logs so I know if you do find a way to delete or modify so please try not to find any way around it. Thanks so much.

That isn't what I submitted I had switched to something way better... but whatever did you inform anyone you were switching? You can't just switch and expect it to be seen especially since it wasnt' granted to switch until the day it was due like only an hour beforehand, if you don't tell anyone, we would've already had your submission in judging. And you're not allowed to change your submission UNLESS an extension is granted and the host says you can change. if anyone that has submitted wishes to resubmit they may do so. I will stop this at midnight just because I don't want people to switch out designs when my judges are critiquing. Actually I just looked in your finals and you dont' even have anything posted for last round at all, so i'm not sure WTF happened and how you submitted in the first place.
